Karolinska Institutet (KI), founded in 1810, is Sweden’s only university especially focusing on biomedical sciences. KI ranks as one of the world’s leading medical universities, thanks in part to the quality of its research activities, which today account for 40 per cent of all medical research in Sweden.

The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the etiology of different diseases. MEB is also host to KI Biobank and is responsible for the Swedish Twin Registry.

The KI team will be involved in WP 1-4 and 6-9 and take the lead of WP2.
